I have 99 with the 2.4. The car is getting really bad fuel millage, I have tried eveything , new plugs, wires, air and fuel filter, ect. so I bought a fuel injector cleaning kit. To use it I need to disconnect the main fuel line by the firewall, I just cant get it off. I have an Autozone fuel disconnect tool, but it's not working. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Spin the fuel line release tool a little to make sure everything is free. Then, the best way I have found, push the lines together with the tool fully seated and then try to pull it apart. I am assuming it is the metal collar type with the tabs locking it inside. Why do you need to disconnect the fuel line for a fuel service?

I am using a OTC fuel injector cleaning kit. It has a special adapter that hooks to where you check the fuel pressure. It's usually on the fuel rail but not on this car. You shut the fuel pump off and run a cleaner into your fuel system. I have ran it on my other car's with great success. The problem is the autozone tool sucks, its plastic, i need to get a medal one.

Ah, ok. For some reason I was thinking there was a test port on those malibus. The plastic ones take some getting used to, but they can work just as well depending on the style of it.
