A/C blows cold air and works fine. Just from time to time the green indicator light begins to flash and seems compressor turns off. What does a flashing green light mean?

I have the problem before. I found the issue to be an overcharged system. What happens is the high pressure senses too much pressure and shuts down. When the pressure relieves the compressor switches back on. Follow local temperature charts to get the correct fill pressures.

I have this same problem. I noticed the a/c would be running and then the air would get warm and i would look down and see that the a/c had turned off. I would jiggle the nob and the a/c would turn back on. I let go of the nob and back off, depending on where that nob sat depended on if the a/c was on or off. I actually did what "Starship" posted here, before i knew anything about it. and guess what, it worked for me. Now i have noticed if the contacts start to get dirty again the nob starts to act up again. but it is simple for me to clean again.

I have had to clean it twice since i started driving that car, oh in about three years of having that car.

This happened to me too, the light would flash on and off but would only blow cold air when it was on. I decided to take off the a/c panel and completely took it apart and put it back together, works now haha

Same thing happened to me -- it was a super easy fix. A little rubbing alcohol and some cotton swabs on the little copper pick up terminals fixed this problem right up! I used the instructions from this forum, just do some searching and you should be able to find it. If you can't, let me know and I'll post photo a walk through.

Is there a trick to get the face plate off? I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the face plate off... I get most of the tabs disengaged around the edge but then it pops back into place. Do I need to unscrew the star head screws on the back?

UPDATE: I was able to get it... reading through the directions again and watching the video gave me confidence to try again. The star head screws on the back are irrelevant to the face plate. I think that if I took the knobs off before prying at the face plate, that it would have been easier to pry it loose.
