I have a 2013 Malibu with a 2.5l, it’s been a crazy week, my engine was on the brink of overheating and I was told by a mechanic that it had a bad thermostat, to save money I changed the thermostat myself with a brand new one, added more coolant then when I got back on the road I received message “engine hot, A/C off” then my A/C shut off but my engine definitely not overheating and everything is fine but now I can’t get my A/C back working, I tried changing the relay and add Freon and still no cold air, I can’t afford to go to mechanic, can anyone please tell my why this happening and what else I do to fix it, it’s really annoying

It could be the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor.

Step 1 is to get the codes read.
