AC on when recirculation selected

Hi

Just breaking in a new 2LT. I had a question about the HVAC that I could not find an answer for in the manual.

When the Recirculate is selected and the AC button is not selected the AC seems to still be on. It does not seem to matter if the AC is selected or not (The light is on or off) as the AC is blowing cold and the compressor is running anytime Recirculate is selected...Is this normal?

It strikes me as odd that this was intended. If so why not have the AC light forced on when Recirculate was selected?

A lot of people have "complained" about this. However, its doing its job. The car is turning on the compressor to dry the air inside the car even if you dont have the A/C on. If you live in a high humidity area and only use recirc then the windows can fog up and cause a wreck.
