I have a 2008 Malibu LS, and the front pads are on their last limbs (2mm pad left!). Has anyone upgraded to performance pads? And what are your impressions? Have you noticed much improved braking?

I'm looking at Satisfied Brakes Pro-Ceramic, or their Grand Sport 6 pads. I was very happy with their GS5 on a previous car. They stopped very well, are heat resistant, not much dust, no noise, and lasted 4 years. Satisfied recommended the Pro-Ceramic for the Malibu, as they're even quieter, smoother, and last longer than the GS. The GS6 are $105, and the Pro-Ceramics are $69.

I won't even consider jobber pads. GM has OE pads for $192 (front), and ceramics for $100.

stickier tires will also help you brake harder. tires are next on my list.
