Good ideas but no it's not any of those things. It is noticeable when the fan is on the lowest setting and the car is idling. It's going in the shop tomorrow morning so maybe ill let them take a look at it. I thought someone posted something similar but I couldn't find it.

That is the exact noise! brrrrrooooo or whrroooo. Also I think it does it more when it is humid outside. I took it in to the shop yesterday for other stuff and told them about it, the service writer said the mechanic drove it for 5 miles and could not duplicate the problem. FiguresI have the very same issue when AC is on and the fan at lowest speed. It's not the AC cycling but may be coming from there. I would say that the noise is chronic. Actually sounds like a quiet pigeon (ie. brrrrooo-ing) and cycles every couple of seconds. Definitely not the chirp of the compressor coming on though. I guess brrroooo-ing is about the same as woffiling
