Someone told me that the warranty will cover an alignment. I need to get the tires rotated, and i think it needs an alignment, it pulls a little to the left. So will it cover one? Its an 09 with 20k on the clock.
Not likely at this point, but don't be afraid to ask the dealer. They have the power to say yes as well!
When my '09 kept pulling to the right somewhere around 4000, miles my dealer told me it wasn't covered. But they're also the ones who couldn't reassemble my car without breaking it or leaving it filthy almost every time they changed the oil. I traded it in and have an '11 from a different dealer who was recommended by several at work and elsewhere.
Pulling "a little" is so subjective. It isn't unusual to see the steering wheel slightly off-center while going straight due to the crown on most roads. Also, the weight of the passenger and cargo affects the suspension geometry as well. If there is uneven or abnormal tire wear, by all means it needs to be checked out, free or not.
I haven't seen a warranty alignment unless it was brand new off the truck and pulled. Other than that there are too road hazards that could throw off an alignment even with low miles. The only other time I think it has been covered is when the factory alignment wore through tires from being out, new Impala's are really bad for this.
Yes, Under one year and 12000 miles. If the dealer says no call GM and report them. Had mine done around 6000 miles and six months old. They told me GM will only do one in the first year free.
Ok,just wondering, i think it needs aligned, i know it shouldnt always be straight, but i think it pulls to much, also with 20k on the clock i need the tires rotated. Just thought I might be able to save some money, but i wasnt sure. Thanks
Depending on the road conditions in your area, it may be worthwhile to get a lifetime wheel alignment service from a tire shop. Some dealership service departments actually farm out wheel alignment jobs anyway.
Make sure to get a printout of the current alignment before you take actual possession of the car...if it's not right...make them align it before you drive it off the lot. Lesson learned from my experience.
