Getting ready to do an install to place some components in the front door. Does anybody know of a place that's easy to get to, to splice into the front speaker harness?

What year is your car? Don't you already have component speakers in the pillar by the windshield?

It's a 2010. The stock speakers are there. Im trying to install an amp and looking to splice into the wires other than behind the OEM head unit.

If you have the premium system with the 6 disk changer, there is a factory amp in the trunk on the passenger side. If you pull the carpet away starting behind the tail light you'll find a square box with wires coming out, you can tap the speaker wires there. SOMEWHERE around here there is a thread that details everything but I can't find it. I wish someone would sticky a post containing all the stereo basics.

This is a great link step by step information about installing a stereo. I did not write it thanks to snobrdrdan if he's still around.

Silver, I will be working up something today if I'm still snowed in. I wish the modification forum could be broke up into segments like interior, exterior, electrical etc, I've spent the last 3 days looking for information I know is here but has been buried. /high jack.

USAFTankDiver; try this link (copy/paste) for complete wiring diagrams for 2008 and 2009 Malibu, according to the source that I downloaded it from. Please check all wiring for accuracy before modifying system. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

That link is to my DropBox account and schematics. This is also a 2-year-old thread so I kinda doubt the Tank Diver will see it.
