Brighter lights won't help much if you've gone pretty dark on the tint. I have no problem backing up with the window tint that's on mine, 35% on the rear windows. You have to realize the percentage the tint is is what amount of light it lets through, 20% means it allows only 20% of light through it, and the lower the number the less amount of light allowed through. You might just have to get use to using your mirrors and rolling down the windows to see more, I've done this with the S10 I own, had limo tint done on the rear window and the extra cab windows but it made it hard to see at night while backing up so I resort to using my outside mirrors or rolling down the window and sticking my head out to look. But since I drive tractor-trailers I'm use to using mirrors and looking behind me from the drivers window.

I roll my windows down and use my mirrors :)
+1 lol.... what did you expect. I try not to put my self into positions that I cannot get out of, and when it's dark and a tight squeeze, I know how to drive so I don't worry about it too much.

I will tell you that I have a black Malibu 08 LTZ with 20% on rear windows and rear windshield and 35 in front. Very hard go see out of at night. Rear view is basically useless and backing up is atrocious. Faint suggestion that may set you back at least a grand and a 1/2. Get an lcd deck like a pioneer and a rearview backup camera if the problem persists. I dont have a camera in the rear but I have seen people that do and it is very convenient to have. I have to roll down the windows when I turn which is a pain in the cold of upstate NY.

i have 5% all around and that was the first thing my wife told me,she drives the malibu. what i did was i bought some mini fog lights (theyre about 2'' in diameter and about 1'' tall) each fog lamp has a 55 watt bulb, h3. installed it under the rear bumper and using a relay wired it to the back up lights. problem solved and bright as hell. the lights can be had for about 10$ on ebay.
