Sometimes when I try to use Siri the little bubble will pop up on the screen and it’ll make the noise like she is listening but the lines that stick out from the sides don’t show up. Eventually Siri will time out and the screen will go back to whatever it had before, but even then sometimes the volume buttons on the steering wheel as well as the volume dial will stop working and I can’t change the volume which is accompanied by the little screen behind my steering wheel showing the volume bar but with nothing filled in and a red line across the middle of it. This doesn’t happen super often, but when it does it’s very annoying since the only way to reset it is to turn off the car for a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?

If you see nothing filled in that means you’ve turned Siri down to the point you can’t hear it. Everything has a separate volume and the red line indicates the level the overall volume is set to. So if your green bar is above the red it will be louder than the set volume, under the line, below the volume set b

Get it to go to Siri again, then try turning up the volume when the voice should be talking. You may gib don’t it’s working, you just can’t hear it.

That’s the thing though is that the volume buttons and dial don’t work when it does that. I can’t change the volume of Siri or my music when it happens.

The volume thing happened to me this morning, for the first time. I ran a Shortcut to play a podcast in Overcast and it was little bit before I noticed I had no volume control. I have run this Shortcut before with no volume issue. Once unplugged from CarPlay I was able to change the volume again.

As far as Siri timing out, I have found this happens if the phone was connected to wifi then then becomes disconnected as it goes out of range. For example when I leave my house if I try to give Siri a command and the switch off of wifi happens in the middle of it...Siri will just sit there until it times out. I have started to manually turn wifi off when I leave my house and it seems to help this issue.

Hope this helps.

Mine just happens randomly as I’m driving and not near any WiFi that I’d be connected to. I’m not sure maybe it’s just a quirk of my car and I’ll just have to deal with it.
