Hi fellas. Im a new owner of a 2008 Malibu LS. I bought it used with 40k miles for 15k OTD. I love this car so far. Mods so far are only tint, and HID's. Anyways....Im hear noise from the front of the car when i go over speed bumps, or bumpy roads. I also have a very slight clunk, but thats not my concern. It sounds like the car has bad struts/shocks. Like a woooshh ssSSssshh noise as i go over a speed bump. Is this a known issue? Oh yeah, my brake pedal is also "squeeks" , usually in the mornings, then gradually goes away. You guys think the dealership will fix these issues under warranty? Anybody have TSB numbers?

Thanks!
Jesse.

Clunk in the suspension, read this thread.

Squeaky brake pedal, read here.

Rule of thumb on shocks/struts is to swap em when they make noise over bumps or around 50K miles.

And remember, search is your freind. ;)

Does sound like struts. Also look at them if they have like oil like substance all over them then that is a good idea they are going or gone.

Thanks! Although 50k seems a little early for the struts to be shot. Oh well, ill just replace them when i swap in my lowering springs :) BTW I LOVE your wheels man. LT2s? They don't look like these cheap hub caps. You know of any good places to get some of those?

Like I said, I think that is a just a ballpark figure, there are just too many factors to give you a specific mileage/time to swap em. You'll know exactly when to get some new ones. Like when you can hear a creeking noise on speed bumps and when driving on any road you'll feel just about any little bump or imperfection on it.

Thank you, by far one of my favorite things on the car. Sorry I don't know of any place, just be on the lookout in the Trading Post section here on the site. I might put em up for sale when it comes time for some new rubber.

Could be the strut mounts/bushings. The struts should last roughly 100k. Granted, for the price of getting the mounts/bushings replaced (labor) you might as well just replace the whole assembly.

Here is a list of what has happened with my wifes (now mine) 08 LTZ. Had the brakes replaced at 15000km's (I think she rode the brakes but who am I to say), stabalizer rod broken at 17000km's, both front struts and tranny work at 24000km's. All I can say is thank god for warranty.
