Hi all. My 2008 LT1 2.4 does this weird thing. Usually happens right after the engine starts. I've noticed it when cold.

Start the engine. Engine starts and a second later I feel a bang. Like a bad motor mount. Goes away. Happens so fast I am not sure if its a backfire, Or a mount. If it was a mount, It should bang when I put in D. Or accelerate.

Anyone else experience this condition?
Thanks

I have the same issue on my 08 malibu. I took it to the dealer they said there is a TSB about it and that it is a normal operating condition. It, according to the TSB, is caused after a cold soak and there being residual tranny fluid in the clutch packs, and that is what cuases the clunk after starting.

Old thread, but since you're here and for future visitors. Go back to the dealer if you're under warranty or a properly equipped independent facility or a dealer if you're out of warranty and have the ECM and TCM reprogrammed with the latest calibrations. Some issues are supposed to be addressed in the updated calibrations.
