I've got a 2017 Malibu LT 1.5 with 45000 on it. with the same factory battery. I've had no problems with it but I'm wondering when I should replace it. I read some posts where owners post the voltage readings but I can't find any way to get them on the cars info system. Is there a way to get them or do I need to check the battery with a meter or should I just replace the 6 year old battery? Thanks...Tony S

I have the same w just over 42k. Dealer said battery was fine last month. Most would advise to replace after 5-6 years. Check Auto zone-performs free battery test (here in NY) I’ll most likely replace mine @ 45k so maybe you should now (?)

I find checking the battery outlined by ChrisFix works for me...if you don't have a multimeter you can get one usually under $10 from places like harbor freight...good luck

It’s great if you have your own garage/driveway. I own a co-op so no go. Haven’t even changed my own oil since mid to late 90’s when I had an ‘85 S10😩

If it's over five years you should think about getting a new one soon. They will strand you when you least expect it . Also, a low battery will cause wierd warning lights to pop up due to low voltage for some of the electrical components in the car. Jay G
