I recently got in touch with the owner of BlueBatmobile overlays because I wanted to see if he could do a black vinyl roof overlay for the 2009+ Malibus. I'm not sure if any of you have heard of him, but he does excellent work.

The black vinyl roof overlay is just one big piece of vinyl that applies to the car similar to window tint or headlight/tail light overlays. They come in a nice black gloss or matte black. This overlay would be able to be taken off if you desired so.

Bat said that he would be more than willing to make an overlay for our gen Malibu, but all he needs is a vehicle in his area. All this person would need to do is meet up with Bat for 5-10 minutes, and let him trace their roof. In return for their time, they would be allowed to purchase the vinyl overlay when it is complete for 50% off.

This is a great opportunity, and I am hoping that somebody can help make this happen!

I kinda like that. It reminds me of the newer mustangs with the full glass roof (or whatever material it is). It looks like it offsets the car nicely. Too bad I don't live in California.

Not a fan really. I have seen some cars with carbon fiber roof inserts and such, and it can work. But I do not think the black roof fits the Malibu though.

We were going to get some eye lids done by him as well but there was no on in the area to go meet him and do this.

For a roof I will just make my own but I don't like the look unless its glass or meant to be that way.. I did my own eye lids but took them off after just not getting them quite right.

I had a pair of his lids on my scion tc

Can't believe how many people don't like the look of a glass looking roof... I think it looks pretty classy, especially on a light colored car.

I think it looks great if it was meant to have one.. My tC was silver and had the all glass roof and it looked great but I just don't know on a family sedan

And just to add that wouldn't be hard to do.. There is really no need for a template to do that. I may try it one day for the fun of it and to see what it looks like. I will need to order some higher cast vinyl though, Most of the stuff i have on hand is the calendered vinyl

That stuff looks pretty high quality. I might buy some and do a few pieces of dash trim on the Speed3.
