Whenever I use my remote to lock/unlock the doors the right brake light does not flash. When I start the car both brake lights are on but when I step on the brake, only the left light gets brighter and the right one stays the same. Could this be a blown fuse? Obviously the bulb is ok

Thank you for any help!!

The bulb runs two filaments in it, one for running lights and the other for brake/turn signal. Does the turn signal flash fast when you have the right turn signal on? If the bulb for sure is good then I would suspect a wiring issue.

When you start the car the running lights (the smaller filament in the bulb) is on. When you press lock or unlock it flashes the brake lights, which use the heavier filament. If the right one doesn't get brighter then the brake filament is likely toast. Since they're easy to change, swap them from side to side and see if the issue follows it. If it stays on the same side then it's wiring; if it follows it's the bulb.

And like chevyguy said, hit the turn signals. Or better yet, have all lights off and then turn on the emergencies ("4-ways" in some locales). If one bulb is not working then it's gotta be the bulb. But switching it from side to side will guarantee the diagnosis.

While the suspect bulb is out, look closely at the filaments. There are two. The heavy one is likely either severed or completely loose and rolling around inside.

I tried the turn signal and it does not work and yes it does flash fast. I also tried the emergencies and nothing from the right side. I guess it is the bulb. I'll change it out soon and will probably change the other side as well.

Thank you guys for all your help!!!!

Agree. This is one poorly designed car as far as maintenance on the front lights goes. The rear lights aren't so bad except for the side markers.

Glad you found the issue and corrected it.
