I'm having the same problem... Kind of like a creaking noise. It also kind of feels like it's rubbing up against something that is resisting it.
Taking mine in tomorrow morning to have it checked out.

There's a TSB to change the break fluid or something along those lines. Don't ask me how, but it fixed my issue...

I'm having the exact same problem with mine. You described it perfectly. It's not the brakes themselves, but the pedal. It feels sorta chunky or something. I'm having the dealer check it out when they replace my faulty airbag module this Tuesday.

Hmm, really?
I had mine in on Saturday and they said they lubed the seal around the brake pedal shaft and lubed the brushing... It didn't fix the issue (maybe slightly).

What does TSB stand for? Should I cite the TSB for this issue when I take it in to them?

Technical Service Bulletin. I would call them, say that you brought it in and they lubed it, but it didn't fix the issue. Say that someone said there is a TSB for this issue and would like to know if you could have them take a look at it again.

Bulletin No.: 08-05-22-002B
Date: October 09, 2008
Subject:
Squeak Noise On Brake Apply (Remove Brake Fluid from Master Cylinder and Refill)
Models:
2004-2007 Buick Rainier
2008 Buick Enclave
2004-2008 Chevrolet Colorado, TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer EXT, TrailBlazer SS
2008 Chevrolet Malibu
2004-2008 GMC Canyon, Envoy, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV
2007-2008 GMC Acadia
2008 Pontiac G6
2007-2008 Saturn OUTLOOK
2008 Saturn AURA
2005-2008 Saab 9-7X
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to include Colorado and Canyon vehicles. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-05-22-002A (Section 05 - Brakes).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeak noise when the brake pedal is applied or when released. This noise is normally heard when the brake pedal is slowly applied with the engine on or off, but can occur when the brake pedal is released. The noise may be isolated to the master cylinder area.
Correction
To correct this concern, remove as much of the old brake fluid from the master cylinder as possible and refill with a new DOT 3 brake fluid, P/N 88862806 (in Canada, use P/N 88862807). Start the vehicle and fully cycle the brake pedal until the noise diminishes to allow the new fluid to enter the system.
Yury posted this in my thread about my squeaking brakes.

Edit: My thread.

UPDATE: Took mine back in a couple weeks ago and told the guy at th ecounter about the TSB, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. They had a technician drive it while I rode with him, but he said he couldn't really feel anything (wth?! It's SO obvious!)
But when I told the technician about the TSB he was like "OH! I remember doing a bunch of these a while back!" He said he knew exactly what I was talking about and what needs to be done.
So he took care of it and the problem is now fixed!

Firstchevy,

I have read you posts on this thread about the brakes on your 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. I understand the frustration that you are feeling with your situation. I, too, hope that the master cylinder with cure this issue. Please, keep me updated.

Figured I'd update my status here...

I pumped all the fluid out of my MC, and refilled, and noticed no change at all... :(

then several weeks later realized that the squeak was gone, and still is! :)

Hope it stays gone!
