So in addition to all of its other problems, the theft system is going crazy
Sometimes when I'm driving I notice that the "Theft System" light stays on. I didn't think it was a big deal. But now, every few days when I try starting the car, it turns over and then dies right away. When this happens the "Theft System" light keeps flashing.
SO, I need help bypassing the alarm system. I need to show this Bu who's the BOSS around here. There's a few things that come to mind:
1) the remote that came w/ the car never worked. Maybe replace the battery and mess around try disarming that way?

2) I disconnected and reconnected the negative battery terminal last time. That worked but I'm afraid it won't always work.

3) I hear leaving the key in the ignition for 10 minutes resets the alarm?

4) I found these instructions online. They work. Only problem is that I don't know what the factory code is.

I'm college student so I need to show this Bu WHAT'S UP on the CHEAP haha. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

There're many articles out there on how to disable Passlock, the simplest being cutting a wire while the motor is running. However, being cheap has consequences. I often wish I had spent more time in college studying rather than playing with cars.

Oh, its called passlock? I tried searching for terms like alarm bypass. Thanks, I'll try and find those articles.

Honestly, the only reason I'm even spending any time or money on this car is because I need to get to class and work.

Halo, the yahoo link is really the instructions on how to unlock a radio that is in LOC mode. Won't help you at all.

You need to go to a reputable repair shop and get your passkey fixed right. Call them first and make sure they understand how the system works.

Things it could be are; the key, the passlock module, the bcm or a wiring issue.

I would be curious to read how this is done. Do you have any links?

Couldn't agree with you more on that, but I might add "and girls" to the end of it.

I really don't have any money left to spend on this car. Anything I can do on my own?

I'm not sure the battery disconnect thing works anymore. I tried starting my car this morning but the theft system wouldn't let me. I disconnected and reconnected the battery, but it still wouldn't start. I was in a rush so I had a friend drive me. Do you think maybe its because I only left the battery disconnected for about 10 seconds that there wasn't enough time for the system to reset?

Have you tried option number 3 in your original post? Turn the key to ON, wait 10 minutes until THEFT SYSTEM stops blinking, and then start it up.
No I haven't. I usually don't have time to wait. I can't be late to work or class.

So does anyone know how I can fix this problem by myself? Its getting way out of hand. Its happening 1-2 times/day.
