The way I can tell my cabin air filter carbon element has been fully used up is ... I can smell my washer fluid when I use it. After replacing the filter the smell is gone again until it wears out. But if yours doesn't have the carbon element that trick won't work.

I honestly don't know if I have a cabin filter or not, I can't get the glove box off

I don't think you do. I don't see one listed as compatible with your car on a parts site.
