Caliper Mounting Bracket Bolts - use Loctite?

16460 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  kzoomale
I am preparing to change the front brake pads of my 06 Malibu. I went to Adv Auto Parts to purchase new pads. The sales person told me that when I go to screw the caliper mounting bracket bolts back on that I should use a little loctite on them. Is this correct? I've owned a Dodge and Ford prior to this and, if anything, I've used Anti-Seize. Thank you.

Elcompalalo, I also have a 2008 Malibu LS and I need to change my front brake pads. Im not very mechanically inclined, although I follow instructions very well, and I have only changed pads once and that was on my '91 Dodge Dynasty....is there any thing special I need to know about replacing the pads? I will have a friend assisting me who is mechanically inclined and changed pads on all his own vehicles..so I wont be without some instruction. Thanks so far to everyone for the info that has been posted so far on this forum!!
