New to the forums. Wife owns a 2016 Hybrid and two days ago we started hearing an odd, bird-sounding-like squeak. We thought it was the tires which needed replacement anyway, but the issue persisted. After driving it around a little more, I began to notice the sound would appear whenever the gas engine kicked in and the engine speed went up a bit during that time. So it happened during upshifting or downshifting. Then, I noticed it even when the car was stationary as well, so I took it in to the dealer. Dealer says it is the camshaft cover that is leaking and quoted me approximately $882 for the part (and some pipe that the service repair pro needed) and labor of $798. Just curious if anyone has had this issue come up. Car has approximately 71,000 miles.
