Ive had a 2007 malibu for about 2 yrs now. It has almost 300k miles on it. About a year ago I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my whole car starts shaking violently. This isn't like when the steering wheel starts shaking a bit cuz u need an alignment. It feels like the car's about to break down. The first time it happened I went to pull over in the breakdown lane when the car started doing better, then after a minute or so the shaking stopped and the car drove smoothly. Well this has been happening on and off over the past year. It doesnt usually happen if im just running a quick errand around town. Its usually when Im accelerating getting onto the highway. It feels like the cars gonna die then it just fixes itself. Any ideas??

Are there any DTCs? (Diagnostic trouble codes) Get them read if you haven't, as they'll lead you toward a system that is likely to be the best place to investigate.

Sounds like something loose or shot in the front end if you have no check engine lights on.
Blown strut, loose tie rod ends, etc. will get the front end shaking and it will not stop until you stop. At your mileage I can guarantee those struts and shocks are bad, at highway speed a bump will get the tires bouncing like a basketball and they will not stop until you stop. Around town usually not noticeable.

I was driving around with....
2 blown struts... both feont conteol arms shot.....i mean shot!
2 stabilizer link shot
And i have some serious motor mount issues.

I didnt experience anything like that. Believe it or not car drove down the road straight as an arrow....only thing that made me fix alot of it was all of a sudden a big bang would happen when changing gears..... car was a bit floaty in the front end....and a mild rattleing when going over bumps.

Like said above. ..hopefully you have some codes that have popped up..... otherwise i suggest getting a video of the issue
