I need to change my passenger side license plate bulb on my 2013 Malibu. How do you remove the plastic housing for the light? I've tried to use the visible tab to release it, but it wont budge.

Sometimes they get stuck, just be careful not to break off the locking tab.

I just replaced both of my bulbs with Philips LED bulbs. It is a two tool job to get them out. You will need to use a small flat head screw driver on the locking tab, then also a secondary pry tool to get under the feet on the same side at the same time. I used one of my plastic trim tools so I didn't scratch the painted surface. Popped right out.
