Does anyone have an answer for engine/transmission issue from onstar??? 2016 Chevrolet Malibu LT, 1.5 liter

Many potential causes of that notice. If you contact OnStar they will sometimes tell you the fault code they received. If the engine light is on solid, you should get the codes scanned to point the right direction. If the engine light is blinking, don't drive and have it towed for diagnosis.
