Hello, I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu 3.5L v6 and recently the cluster gauge went out.



All the lights are working on it, the check engine light and one other light turns off after the vehicle has started, and all the other lights stayed on.



I've checked the passenger fuse box for the cluster/theft fuse and it is functional (along with every fuse in this car I'm pretty sure at this point)



I've disassembled the cluster itself to inspect the board, it's clean.



All the ground contacts next to the passenger fuse box appear to be clean (which is also where the BCM is at, right?)



I also noticed that the cigarette port isnt working either, and the fuse is fine. I am not sure if the cigarette port broke at the same time as the cluster.



Everything else with the car works good.







At first, the cluster would not emit any lights and would appear to be completely dead, however, I cleaned the ground connection on the battery terminal and the lights began to work on the cluster. Here is the image which was taken when the vehicle was running.. New item by --







Where should I begin?. Thanks!

Below I have attached pinouts and wiring diagrams. You can unplug the two conectors from the BCM and apply some dielectric grease then plug them back in. You could also purchase a used instrument cluster from ebay or a junk yard and swap it the odometer is stored somewhere else not in the cluster so the miles will transfer over I can confirm this. If it dosnt work most ebay listing allow returning so you can get your money back. Hope this helps. The ground for the cluster is g201 ill attach a picture of were that is located.

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately this did not work, but I will order a used cluster and keep you updated!
Also, when the cluster is disconnected, I start the car and then stalls immediately. When I swap out clusters, I shouldn't expect this issue right?

No it's should not. I just unplugged the cluster and started my car and it didn't stall. Make sure the two conectors you removed are secure take them back out and reinsert them.
