I have fault codes P00f4, P00f4p/d P0097,P0097p/d and 2199 and 2199p/d on my 2017 malibu I have replaced the MAF sensor air filter cleaned the throttle body and drilled some holes in the air box.
If the holes in the airbox allow air from the engine bay into it, then you are now getting warmer air, which is not good for any engine. The colder, the better.
