Over the past 2 weeks, I've been giving my 09 Malibu my undivided attention.

Things I have done.....
Tinted windows 35% just to keep it safe
Replaced headunit with Pioneer Multimedia Player
New rear speakers Kenwood 4 way 6x9s
New front speakers Alpine Type-R 6.5" (very nice!)
Built a ported box. Tuned, sealed, ready to boom!
Ran 4 Gauge Tsunami cables for Amp and sub
15" Kicker L7 in the trunk (Oh My Gosh.)
1500w Autotek Mean Machine wired at 2 Ohms pushing out 1000w RMS

If anyone has questions on how to shop for car audio, install it and save some money, please feel free to ask!

Very nice set-up! You got just about everything covered and it must be poundin too!

Good idea on the tint, it will help keep your stuff out of sight (well help anyways).

I take it you have no use for your trunk? I do hope you reinforced the board that covers the spare tire. With amount of weight and bass you'll be pushing. That box and amp will start shagging downwards. Unless your one of those guys that remove the spare tire feeling you'll never get a flat some day.

One more thing, why did you place the amp in front of the sub? Vibration from the sub WILL loosen internal components. Picture it in your mind, as the amp heats up. The board gets warm. Whats attached to the board? Resistors and other components that make your amp run. As it heats up and each time the bass hits wouldn't you think one of the components would come apart from the vibration?

I mean, you my have been doing this for a while now. But I've never seen it done on any custom cars I've seen at SEMA or any car show.

Sorry I haven't been posting, I'm currently deployed on a training mission....anyways,

Thank you all for your thoughts, I will definitely put some effort into getting the trim painted. I am also working on a new blueprint for a bigger box because I am not completely satisfied with how the bass hits. The sub hits extremely low but for some reason there is just not enough pressure. Another amp is coming in too for voice.

my1stlt- I have been doing this for a while...a long while. I was an apprentice at a shop for 6 months and worked at another for 2 years. So I guess you can say I have a little bit of experience. Yes I did reinforce my trunk with plywood. Oh and one more thing, I put my amp in front of my box for a reason. There was not enough space between the rear seat and box for my amp to breathe. Picture it in your mind, car audio engineers build subwoofer amplifiers for a reason, to take a beating. No matter where I put my amp, the bass will still vibrate it.

Please post some more constructive criticism, I love to hear read it!

Trunk is being "Dynamatted" very soon! I will post some pics of that project ASAP!

whooo boi...that Bu is on point!! dynamat will make ALL tha diff bro. i got 2 12" CVRs runnin on a 1400w crossfire and i gotta say, after i dynamatted tha trunk, the reduction in rattling was amazing, not to mention the bass sounded louder on tha inside.

i use to have that in-dash, it's pretty slick. looks real clean bro, keep it up.
Kicker subs FTW!!!
