Just bought a 2011 Malibu and looking for the best way to cover up the gold on the chevy emblems. Whether to paint them or use vinyl tape. It seems that the vinyl would be easier. Maybe some of you that have done it could help me out and give me some direction. Thanks

I painted mine for my car, but I also knew I wasn't going back to the gold and didn't mind it being permanent. If you want the option of being able to change it up later then I would go with vinyl. Here is an awesome how to on here if you decide to paint. http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4351

Here's how mine came out looking when it was finished. Both of them have held up well, especially the front with debris and road salt from the winter.

I just did mine a couple of days ago. I went to a local sign shop and asked them to sell me a about a foot of vinyl. I cut a section and laid it over the emblem but, because of the bend in the emblem I ended up cutting it down the center. I then applied the right hand side and the lined up the left side and applied it. Once it was all smoothed out I then took an exacto knife and cut along the edges. Took about a half an hour to do both and cost me just $5.00 plus I have enough vinyl to do probably four more.
