I have been reviewing all the aftermarket navigation threads and they have been extremely informational. I feel very comfortable installing my recently purchased DNX6960 but still have one question.

I haven’t found any information on where people are installing their Mic for the Bluetooth phone calls. I would like to have it hid away as much as possible and was thinking of installing it up in the overhead light section where the factory Mic is. Has anyone tried this? I found a video on YouTube that had a guy installing it in the same place on a Prius. Just wanted to get a few ideas.

I'll post pictures when I am done.

I have a pioneer nav unit and I put mine by the overhead lights but it just sticks up there and I can turn it in all directions. Not sure what your mic looks like but it worked perfect with mine. I also installed one for a friend who had a VW Jetta, but it had a spot for a mic exactly like ours does (for onstar) and I installed it there and it worked perfect. The mic was completely hidden and he didn't have a problem anything. So, I'm sure if you want to hide it there you could (of course, you probably wouldn't be able to use onstar). I could care less about onstar, but the reason I didn't mount it there is because I wanted to be able to move the mic around, and it doesn't bother me one bit where I have it. Hope this at least helps some.

i put mine int he factory mic location in the overhead console. very very sinmple to do . securing it is a little harder but i can make phone calls etc wihtout issues.
I did somethig similar. My Aura uses the same overhead console as the Malibu, in fact I replace my non Homelink one with one from a Malibu.

The OEM Mic is held in place by a plastic bracket. I drilled a hole in the bracket a hair smaller than the diameter of the mic. It fits nice and snug.

I had them just put mine in the factory location. I has a little clip on it and it pops out by the rear view mirror area. I've had no issues with it there so far.
