Do you lose on-star with aftermarket radio?

OnStar service is not lost, but access to use it is lost unless you get a special harness to use your steering wheel buttons, chimes, and/or mic.

Use the forum search and you'll find a number of posts discussing this very subject by people who've done the installs. There's even a video running around here on one of the threads showing how to disassemble the center stack to R&R the radio.

I have a 2009 LTZ. I installed a Pioneer AVIC-120bt using the Axxess GMOS-LAN-04. Onstar is there. I press the Blue button The unit goes off and onstar comes on. after Im done with onstar. the unit come back on. All factory sounds are still there as well.
