Does anyone know how turn off lights in the car while door is open?

Leave the door open and about 10-15 minutes later the battery monitor thingy will turn them off.

If no switch at the dome light you can't. My old 04 Malibu had a switch.

Have you looked at the dome light itself, there should be a switch right in the center.

On Constant / On when doors open / Off Constant

i have looked everywhere, all of my friends cars have a switch, which i like cause a night time those lights are really bright when the door is open

Ive seen the switch installation, always wondered which veh they got the dome from, thanks ill try that.. And if that doesnt work, im sure the next suggestion will be to take out the bulbs and carry a flashlight.

Exactly. Stick your finger in the latch & press down twice till it bottoms out. Then the ajar switch is closed. Then, just remember to use the interior door handle to reopen the latch before closing the door. Easy as cake.

Poking around, it appears integrated into the door latch mechanism. If I use a screw driver to close the latch,, the light goes off on my '11.

Just remember to lift the handle prior to closing the door...

Manipulating the latch does not seem like an intuitive solution. Are there other workarounds available that prevents the interior lights from turning on after a door is open?

It would be even better if Chevy created the dimmer switch with an 'always off' setting.
