They are just stuck on as far as I know, so it'll be just as if you're taking the badges off. Just be sure to take your time so you don't damage the finish on the car. If it's used, you might have a color difference from where the paint has faded in the sun. So be aware of that if it is. Good luck with it!

My Malibu had them. I just pulled them off on a warm day. No residue left behind. Took all of 5 minutes for the 4 doors. Just make sure you wash and wax afterwards because there is probably no protection on the paint under the molding.

I'd be very careful, not everyones car has nothing underneath there. I tried to remove my side molding and I had pins in there holding it on as well as glue. I have an 08 2LT...

Some people have this some dont...you can see the pin barely in between the glue, but it was definitely there

So did you end up keeping your moldings or did you install new ones ? I am planning to install new moldings with chrome insert from Sportwing.com

That's a first for side moldings this small. The only time I have ever seen something like that was on the Sunfire but it had panels that were like a foot tall down the sides of the car.

Dont feel bad my malibu came with out them and I park in the Airport parking lot and on the first week I got a ding. I took out the ding and put the moldings on -- it saves the doors from people who are less considerate of others.

If it came with the moldings, they are attached with tape but there are alignment holes in the door so if you take them off there will be holes that need to be filled and painted.

Don't take them off. People have swung their doors into my car 4 times even though I park carefully in public. Only once was any permanent damage done to the door, and it's minimal and only cosmetic.

My '09 BGM had them and they kept me from having to deal with some imbecile who parked next me at home and swung his white door into it. Left a little mark on the strip but no door damage.

My '11 RJT doesn't have them and so far no dents/dings that could have been prevented with them. (I have a mystery scratch on the front left wheel well lip, tho!?!) I like the looks with or without but kinda wish this one had them just as a practical measure.

You can put them on without drilling holes. That's how I did mine. I cut the pins off and measured the way SI said and stuck them on. Been there a year and stick real well.
