Hey guys I ordered a double din Pioneer all-in-one and have ordered the appropriate harnesses/adapters but not the dash kit yet. Was wondering if anyone has pics of both kits or experience with either or? Ive heard that the Scosche kit is a better match due to its smooth non-textured surface and have also heard that the Metra kit IS textured and has fitment issues such as not being flush with the rest of the dash, as in it sticks out slightly.

Not sure about the Malibu, but in the past I ALWAYS have prefered the kits from Metra. My buddy has the Metra kit in his '09 2LT and he painted it silver to match the dash trim, looks great.

As far as I remember it is flush. He is deployed in overseas now....

Well the Metra is textured (for G6, HHR, Saturn Vue etc.) so getting it to match original dash would mean sanding it down smooth while the Scosche already comes smooth, non textured.

I just installed a Metra Double Din kit with my Pioneer unit, and the Metra Kit I used has a smooth finish, matches fairly well.

Really? Any pics? Are you sure that's the part number because thats the one that's pulling up the textured kit.

Damn that looks perfectly, now all you gotta do is color match it. Im trying to find that dash kit locally now and after calling around Im not having any luck. Any of you guys have any suggestions of a major local retailer?

may i ask you one thing?
the black pioneer frame and you dash board
are they alligned
or does the pioneer grame at least pop out of the dashboard a little?
coz this would be ugly to me to install in my car!
can you check that and let me know please?

The metra kit is flush with the dash, the pioneer 120bt does stick out at the bottom, just a tad, due to the fact that there are a few buttons on the bottom of the drop down display.

My kit comes on Monday, Ill be doing a how-to with pics so Ill let you know then. I have a Pioneer Avic-X920bt that Im installing with a Metra kit, shouldn't be that different from any new Pioneer unit.
