Just got the dual outlets put on my Malibu LT Thursday. WOW! Night and day better with it!!! Here is what I did. Buy the lower dual valance trim, and buy 1 LT chrome tip so you have 2. Parts were $110. Took it to the local exhaust shop. They put the valance on, welded a pipe to the right side of the muffler and installed the matching chrome tip. They did not have to modify or do anything to the stock exhaust parts. And the LT chrome tips look way better than the 3.6 tips on the back. Parts and labor was $283 :)

Good job. But aren't the 1LT tips small? IMO the larger V6 tips would look more aggressive. But if it was cheaper and your happy your good.

How about posting some pics for the others?

The LT tips have a 3 inch opening. The V6 tips are slightly bigger and have a slash cut. I could have bought 2 new tips but the LT tips really look cool. The LT tips are thick and good quality. Worth getting done for sure!!!

Thanks! When you say the LTZ tips do you mean the 3.6 tips because I was looking at the tips on a 2010 LTZ I4 and they look the same as mine. They don't even offer a V6 anymore which makes no sense to me on 2010 LTZ. V6 with a 6 speed tranny would be my choice. I am happy with my car though. Gets great gas mileage!

I could be wrong on this but if you want the 3.6 LTZ tips I do believe you have to buy the whole 3.6 exhaust system for $550. They did not show any seperate parts on that exhaust system. It's a welded system. That's why I went the route I did. So if you like the look of those tips you will have to find them some place else which is no big deal.

Do you have any pics of the underside? I would like to see how they welded the pipe to the right side of the muffler.

By the way it looks GREAT!

Yeah good question, as you can't just cut a hole in a muffler and add a pipe to it. When I first read it I thought the muffler was swapped with a V6 one.
When I first read it I had to give it some thought , I concluded those OEM mufflers are huge and there is plenty of space to just weld the pipe to. So basically the second one is there only for looks and not function.

Should be able to go to any dealer. Or you can go to one of the many web sites, do a search on google for GM parts. Here is one,

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

go to chevrolet, then to malibu, then rear bumper and componets, then lower extension, then dual exhaust, they run around $45 to 50 dollars, shipping may double that though.

Take in those part numbers to your local dealership, they might come close on the price and you save on the shipping. I've saved tons when going that route.
