Regarding your trunk button: those old keyfobs had conductive contacts on the back of the rubber button pad that frequently wore out and the button would stop responding. You can fix this by using a hole punch on tin foil and gluing that little circle on the contact for the trunk button. If that doesn't fix the issue, at least you've wasted minimal time and no money. The next step would be to buy a replacement fob online and pay a lock smith to program it.
