Now I havent had my Malibu for even two weeks yet but I could not be more happy! Unlike the cars I have had in the past, I am still excited everytime I reach in my pocket for the keys or when I go to open the garage door. Most of the time I like to just look at the pictures I have of her on the computer. I usually have that buyers regret with past vehicles but not with this one! And It is silver which is my favorite color on a car by far.

And the interior is another thing. I cant be the only one who Loves the interior! The way it comes up from the center and wraps around to the doors! I sit in it and kinda just smile. Like this is mine, this is awesome, and Im happy and content. No more travelin through all the dealerships a month after I get a vehicle lookin for bigger and better things. The Malibu is big enough and definitely good enough for me!

Anybody else feel this way? I cant be the only one...

When I first got my Malibu, I had the same feelings that you have right now.

Then it all went downhill after having it for just two years.

Now, I really wish I had bought something else.

Glad you still like it. I see you are up in Michigan...how's it drive on the snow, and how do you like the interior color?

Let's see...the average car has over 100,000 individual parts, bolts, cables, etc. Every manufacturer makes thousands of items that go into thousands of cars by the car manufacturers. Some cars gets lucky without any problems, some have some problems, and some have tons of problems.

Next door neighbor had a new 2010 Camry that was in the shop weekly for over 3 months with dozens of problems, before he got rid of it. Another person on the street has the same year Camry, and hasn't had a single problem.

So, don't let people with negative experiences take away your excitement. All manufacturers assemble perfect running cars, and on the other end, the worst you'll ever own. "The grass is always greener on the other side", but who knows...a different car may have been even worse.

Glad you love it! I still get that excitement when I see my Harley in the garage, and it's been nearly 3 years since I bought it :)

Way to rain on his parade there BlinkQS. I have had my new Malibu for 7 weeks and really like it. Time will tell with any potential/possible problems or not. Today the car is just fine in the 8-12 inches of new wind blown snow; I haven't driven it. Actually, the tires (LS2?) are not great in the snow, but I have had some tires that were just as bad a few years ago on a new Ion 3. What is it with GM putting such inadequate tires on their new cars?
Glad you like your car.:)

I live in South Bend Indiana, the Malibu with traction control is 100x better than my 05 pacifica I traded in. that car went no were in the snow. I still run the stock goodyears for now. In a couple of weeks we are doing our rounds in michigan so I will see how well it does if there is any snow. South Bend to Grand Rapids, to Coldwater, to Mesick MI should give a good snow test.

I gotta agree with ya! I bought my '09 2LT on December 6, 2008. The cars I had left on my list to choose from were a used '08 Impala with 31,000 miles and what I thought was an '08 Malibu but sight unseen. I had driven two at the dealership and was using them to make my decision. I finally chose the 'Bu mostly for the styling but also for the better handling. I finally got mine about 5 hours later. They claimed a salesman had been driving it and couldn't reach him (on a Saturday) but it was a dealer trade from at least 3 hours away, and by the time I got it, it had 1252 miles on it! Finally, in October, I decided to see if I could get the color I really wanted instead of whatever was available.

Now I have an '11 LTZ and I'm still like you. I look out the window and it's a great looking car, people at work say it looks nice, people get in it and think it's a much more expensive car than it is, and when I get in it I really like the styling. And now that you mention it, one of the things I like is the cockpit feeling, just like you mention.

So, aside from any mechanical or other issues that might be infuriating some, since your thread started with thoughts about the styling and looks, I'm 100% satisfied. Heck, it's my second one! And to let you know how awesome that is in my life, I've never, ever, owned a new car before. The '09 was black and looked real nice but it wasn't my preferred color. This red one is the one I've been hankering for since I got the '09. Now I have it!

And since no car or manufacturer is perfect (could we afford it if they were?) I'm quite satisfied with most of the rest of the car as well. A few engineering boondoggles that make me think they had a design contest in an elementary school kinda make me cuss a little, but nothin' I won't be able to live with.

I still love my car. I love driving it and when people drool over it, mainly people at work despite all the other malibu's on the lot. There just seems to be something about the car that keeps me interested in it, something I haven't really felt since my 04' hemi ram, which I miss still. It has everything I could need in a vehicle and then some. I only wish it was cheaper to put my CD player in that I have owned since my first car so I could have more options for changing the stock system.

The color of the interior is exactly what I wanted. And the silver strips that wrap around set it off and I love it!

Its handling awesome in the amount of snow we have so far. 100x better than my cobalt. I had traction control in that but when it completely stops going up a hill because the tires will stop when they spin is not cool. The real test tho will be tomorrow as we just got hammered by a Ton of snow! They even closed part of the main road I live by because of drifting snow. 50 mph wind gusts + at least 15 inches of snow + open fields = not a very fun drive to work...

And Im all for being about "if you like it thats all that matters"! But when I pull into work or up to the local gas station and everybody compliments me on it or tells me theyre excited for me I can't stop smiling! There is just something about it that makes me super happy!

And the one sucky thing about bringing it home on November 30th...it was the first night that it snowed and stuck and hasnt gone away! ugh!

Hey Munster, where in TC are you from? I am in the Cherry Bend neighborhood myself. Can't wait until spring to put the car through its paces. So far one longer trip down to Grand Haven and back. 29+ MPG while going 55pmh, and 27MPG while 70mph, but really seems to drop over 70mph (V6). Isn't this weather just great?

I still love my Malibu after owning it for a couple months. Of course, with a used car, there is always bound to be something wrong with it, but as far as I'm concerned, the good outweighs the bad.
