Does anyone know if I could possibly get it chromed plated with real chrome? It seems that every time i was the car it gets scratched more and it is becoming quite dull.

i used to work at a friends chrome plating company and it would be impossible to chrome just a section of a piece. its either all or none. maybe you can polish and buff it?

I have some chrome polish Ill try that, however I tried that on the chrome part of the grill and it didn't do much.

Doubt it would help very much, how about just getting a light coat of wax on it to give it some protection from more scratches.

Real chrome is metal based, that is plastic. Weird that yours is wearing. The wife's looks new even after 30K.

There are processes to chrome plate plastic. I have no idea if the Malibu has any though.
