Well this is my first post here and I just thought I would give a quick review of the wife's 2010 Bu. It is an LT1, color is Mocha with cocoa/cashmere interior. It has the 2.4 with six speed auto (tap shift) sun roof and all other standard equip. and now has 2200 miles on it.
First, I have been driving an 1997 Cadillac Seville STS purchased with 70K and now has 210 + on the odometer. So that is what I have for comparison. The exterior styling is what drew me to the BU I think it is a good looking car and I am a GM fan, never owned a ford or Chrysler. Interior is also very nice although it is not leather like the STS the cocoa/cashmere look classy. Interior fit and finish is very good compared to previous GM/chevy cars I have looked at except the tilt steering is somewhat limited in how far up it tilts I think. Seats are firm and a little hard but I am sure they will soften up over time. Compared to the Caddy the interior is small and it has taken some getting used to although it is a five passenger car three full grown adults in the back is a tight fit and could be rough for long travel I think. The rear window is small and C pilar makes it hard to see out the back some times.
The 2.4 is OK but being used to the 300 hp of the Northstar it definitely lacks some get up and go. Good for running around but really revs when it down shifts to pass at speed or get on the interstate at an on-ramp. Best fuel milage I have seen is 30 mpg hell my Caddy gets 24-26 on the highway. Don't know why I was interested in the tap shift as I have not used it and really don't see a need for it. One complaint is the transmission seems to struggle for a gear sometimes. It can shift hard at times almost like it has some kind of shift kit in it like a truck, not sure if I like this.
My Major complaint is the trunk. What a small opening for such a large trunk space. We were doing some Christmas shopping when we purchased two of those power wheels for the grand kids. One box fit in the rear seat and then I tried to fit the other in the trunk no freaking way
. that was the first time I noticed this opening. To top it off the car sitting next to us was a new Toyota Camray and sure enough the people came out with the same two boxes. One in the rear seat and the other goes right in the trunk although he had to tie it down, I had to go all the way home and come back for the second box. the wife said "so she still liked the car anyway". Other complaints are why GM has this nice car and the mirror on the visor does not have a light, no turn signal on outside mirror, the heater is loud when it is 3 or above, More road noise than I had hoped for and I think the 97 STS is has a smother ride and is quieter.
Other cars considered before I bought this were the Pontiac G8 and Cadillac CTS. The G8 was had a harsh ride more sport type car is why. The CTS was my first Choice but after looking at the $$, the Bu Was the obvious choice. Im still getting used to it but for the money it was a good choice.
