Looks like your in a salt zone with all the ''white'' on everything in that picture. A good contact cleaner with lubricant is your friend in connectors. Underhood cleaning would be a good idea to get all that corrosive salt out of there.

That is food for thought! I do know that when my brother-in-law got the car to me, there was a screeching noise after driving for a short distance..no lights, nothing consistent, so drove it more. Finally, a mechanic-friend checked it and found the E brake was stuck. He freed it and no more screeching. Can that brake control module be checked without too much trouble? I could ask the mechanics. Thank you for the info!!!
Check the post dates. Nothing on this for over a year. Issue with the brake module would set a code and trigger a check light on the dashboard. No light then no issue.
Stuck mechanical brake issue will not trigger a code or light.
