I have never used a fuel system cleaner before but I am thinking about trying it within the next 600 miles or so, which it will then be time for an oil change.

From what I've heard and read Chevron Techtron Fuel System Cleaner and Redline SL-1 are the top two Fuel system cleaners that consumers prefer.

I am only starting this poll to see what people think. After you vote please reply stating why you think one is better than the other. [PUBLIC POLL]

I will just throw another product out there that works really well. The GM Fuel System Treatment Plus works really well in my car. I only have to use it every other oil change (6-8K miles generally) along with top tier gasoline. If I had to choose one of the two I would go with the Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner since it has worked fairly well in the past for me.

I use the Chevron Techron bottle that treats 15 gallons, and burn up the last tank of gas with the treatment until the gas light comes on, then fill up again, and then I usually change the oil afterwards.

The small print on the Chevron Techron bottle says that it won't damage catalytic converters.

Plus, my dealer sells the same exact bottle, size/shape/color, but with a GM label on it for 20 bucks, while Walmart sells the Chevron version for 9 bucks.

I use Techron when I see a problem with my gas gauge. Run tank until its close to empty and then add the Techron and fill up. Usually one treatment is good for a year or more. I change the oil when the OLM says to which may or not coincide with when I added the Techron. Have not seen a drop off in gas mileage or power on any of my vehicles due to not running a fuel system cleaner through on a regular basis. Have had the 08 since 7-29-08 and haven't used any fuel system cleaners yet.
