So I've been trying to decide what to do first with my Malibu. The idea popped into my head about changing the LED color in the gauge cluster. Has anyone experimented with this in our cars? I'd like to know what kind of challenge I'm looking at before I just dive into the project.

The LED's around the cabin i know have been addressed, but the gauge cluster is something I don't know they tackled.

You might consider looking for a scrapped '08 upgraded gauge cluster, but IMO the cluster isn't something to toy with first, especially above all the other options to do to one of these cars new. Some other ideas in my signature... but good luck nonetheless! If you're like me, and you have this idea in your head, you wouldn't listen to me anyhow and thats A-OK

I think someone tried and found out the LED's were soldered or very hard to remove in the cluster.

The LEDs on the newer GMs are very hard to change, unless your profession is in electronics I wouldn't even try it.
