GM Warranty Overseas

I purchased GM Certified Used 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ 3.6L in May of 2009 with 17,000 miles and then recieved orders to move to Italy in September. We took the car with us and about 2 months ago at about 24,000 mile the steering started clunking and whinning. I need to know if the warranty will cover the repairs needed. Does anyone have any experience with warranty work overseas? Thanks!
