I just bought a 2008 malibu 2lt with 89k on it for $8450.00 private sale. There are a few small mechanical issues one the steering has a clunk in it when you wiggle it. The other is the FOB is dead. I read some of the other post that said the clunk is probably my Rack. I called a friend that has a shop and he said he could replace it for about $400 and I plan on buying a FOB at the local dealer. The car was very dirty and had several scratches, but a day and a half of detailing with my wife and it looks really nice. Is this a fair price for something in this condition?

Seems like an okay deal. More mileage then I would want on a Malibu though. Hopefully it's mainly highway miles....good luck with it.
