I'm wondering how others have installed their portable GPS systems in their Malibu? I wasn't interested in putting in a replacement radio to get a dash integrated GPS system so I've been doing a lot of searching for ways to make the GPS look and feel somewhat seemless. No luck finding any real practical solutions but I did see some possibilities including a Volvo popup GPS option.

I finally decided to store the GPS in the cubby and wire the power through the center console and into the power on ignition connector. The GPS mount folds down so that I can close the cubby. Sorry for the crummy pictures, used my cellphone.

Looks interesting...I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of having that latch open....Takes away some view of the road which is never good.

If I use mine, I'll just suck it to the windshield!

I wish Chevy would make something similar to Mazda's compartment pop up GPS. Can't remember which model but they offer it. I settled for a mount from Kuda Usa and a Panasonic 5 inch GPS attached to the mount using a clip from pro clip usa. I posted my pictures in a previous thread.

Yeah, I debated about whether having the cover open would be problematic but the fact of the matter is putting the GPS on the window is just as much an obtruction as the open cover.

This Suzuki GPS option would be neat if you could do something like it.

maybe its just that im living in the year 2009 but doesnt everyone have a GPS app on their phone. im on verizon and the service is chepaer than a GPS in some cases. and provides traffic and local searches for golf course, restaurants, etc.

Yea but I think holding your phone and using it as a GPS is more troublesome/dangerous. Honestly Im just thinking of fiberglassing my Nuvi into the pop up dash cover.
