Hello all!

I'm kinda late into joining the Malibu forums here, I've been on Camaro5.com for a while, and thought, well, I own a Malibu too, the people here must be just as cool!

The Malibu is a 2008 2LT V6, with just about everything! Black interior with the wood trim. We actually pre-ordered ours, and so far she's been nothing but good to us! Don't see that many around here which is kinda neat, this car actually draws a surprising amount of attention.

Thought I'd put up a picture or two of the Malibu and the rest of her stablemates. Sitting in the garage alongside her are a 2010 Camaro LT/RS and an E38 BMW 740i. Love all of them dearly!

Hope to be able to find some good information here!

Welcome to CMF!

Hold on, maybe I'd better back up. "I own a Malibu too, the people here must be just as cool!" Wrong! We're WAY cooler! ;)

Those stablemates look real nice but your 'Bu needs a little more light shed on 'er. If you decide to put up another pic, see about posting some of the inside, too. And tell us about any mods you've done. That's something we like to do around here as well. Did you get the 4- or 6-speed tranny? I had an '09 2LT and really liked it, so much that I went down and traded it for my '11 in the color I wanted when I got the '09. Case closed! :)

Stick around and read, comment, share. It's a great site and that'll make it even greater! And see about getting on over to the User CP to get a personalized sig. You can even put pics in it.

Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

Alrightio, more pictures! I couldn't find a decent picture of the Malibu when I posted that last night, so I ran out and snapped a quick one. Yep, it was dark outside. Got some better ones, albeit it's a bit rainy here! Interior pic as requested as well! It's funny, when I picked up the Malibu, the dealer was surprised to find out mine had the wood trim inside, none of the other ones they had ever gotten had that apparently, I didn't even know it would have it, but I personally really like it.

I got the 2LT with the 6-speed Tapshift and the V6, and couldn't be happier! I'm a big fan of the red actually, I think if I trade up anytime it would be for that colour too.

Haven't gotten around to mods yet! I know.. tisk tisk... the warranty runs out very very soon, so when that day comes, freedom to add some things! I once got a loaner hybrid 'Bu that the dealer had a gps installed in it, and always left me kinda wanting one... Our local dealer here is very finicky when it comes to adding things to the cars, so I've been playing it safe since '08! There's some cool DIYs on here.. lot's to think about!

Thanks for all the good tips, I'll try and contribute what I know! I consider myself an okay at-home mechanic (well, I haven't broken anything yet.. knock on wood!), so hopefully I can contribute something!

Hey, thanks for the great pics! That interior is the exact one that I had on my '09 BGM (black granite metallic) 2LT.

One of your first mods could be one that is popular on here: tint. It doesn't change anything as far as warranty is concerned, and it really adds to the car in several ways. Privacy while driving or parked, reduced sun load on AC, less UV to damage things, and it looks really cool!

Then start putting together your wish list. It'll be fun for you and we'll all get to share what you've done as well.

As far as being "an okay at-home mechanic" - the important thing is you haven't broken anything. So many others who work on things break them, so you're miles ahead already!

Neat sig pic, too. Never hurts to dream.
