On the g6performance forum, alot of guys use the gt-r exhaust and have had lots of good things to say about it, now the g6 is pretty much the same chassis as the malibu, so technically we should be able to use this exhaust setup on our cars as well correct ?

I am just going to keep you guys informed on whats going on. I am e-mailing him back and forth now

Yes, there are some subtle changes, but our system will work on the Malibu. Does your Malibu have dual exits ?

Hi Steven,

Josh just gave me your email so that I could respond. My name is Sam, I'm the guy that designed the exhaust. The exhaust was designed to improve torque, and we achieve this, by modifying the muffler. The G6 just like the Malibu is a fairly heavy car, 3500 plus lbs. Torque is not something you can afford to lose. Many G6 owners have found this out the hard way by going with the typical big pipe system that others produce. Our system uses 2.5" mandrel bent stainless which insures optimum flow, the muffler we modify acts as the regulator. This is what allows the engine to produce more torque down low, and more hp higher in the rpms. I also designed the system not to sound like other V6's or in any way like the typical fart ricer sound that is associated with many aftermarket exhaust systems. We went after a European sports car type sound.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

more from them

The Subtle changes Josh was pointing out are very minor, we're talking about where the hanger is located on ther Malibu verses the G6. The Malibu has the same hanger locations as the G6, but are not used, so it's just a matter of moving the rubber hanger to the un-used location. The exhaust tip we use on the G6 is a high quality dual walled design that fills the openeing very nicely. We can possibly use a different design tip for the Malibu, but the overall design of the system would need to stay the same, as it is a proven system that works.

yeah i can get that valence for about 17 bucks then it just bolts in so thats simple, but 600 bucks for an exhaust is still a lot of cash...

stainless mandrel bent is never cheap, but according to them yes just swap over some hanger locations. apparently the 6 and the bu have all the mounts...just they chose to use different ones, hard to say w/o the exhaust and car in front of me

I won't be able to afford to buy into this (big life change / move coming), but I'd be interested in seeing dyno info before / after for the cars they've installed this on. As GTPMalibu said, 600 isn't pocket money, so if it doesn't do more than make different noise, I'd be hesitant to spend on it anyway. Not that this kept me from going with a GM performance cat-back on the 07 Avalanche.. (sayin' I understand if some of you see things differently)

So, anyone find any links of info on the actual performance number changes with the new exhaust?
