Not talking about skyline GT-R exhaust :D. Anyways, this is a nice cat-back I have found for the pontiac G6, but G6 and malibu exhaust are basically the same; except for one thing. On the malibu there is another cat. converter past the downpipe (where the cat back would start) and on the G6 there is not one there. Other thing, there is no sensors past this converter. So, my main question out of this is if a cat back is put on and this converter is eliminated would there be any issues. Personally I don't think there would be an issue, but I want to see if anyone has changed the exhaust from the cat back and had a problem mainly on the 4 cyl. I am trying to lay things out for future, possible, changes. http://www.classic4performance.com/

I had that on my '07 G6 GTP that I had before the Malibu. For about a week LOL, then sold it on Ebay. It just sounded horrible, not good at all. Sorry to say, but you just can't make an American V6 sound good if you ask me. Same goes for an American I4.

That's disappointing, but oh well. I am just throwing thoughts out there. In the end I will probably just go to a nice WRX after a couple years:D. The exhaust at least looks nice. Was it loud or was it the GM exhaust cackle that made it sound bad?

It wasn't loud to me, my Camaro with long tubes and bullet mufflers is LOL.
It just sounded like a tractor, unrefined, not clear.

Yep, that sounds about right to explain GM cackle.

I am still curious about that second catalytic converter. Maybe it is there for better emissions? I work on GM's all day and I still don't understand why they do some of the things they do, lol.
