the passenger heated seat seems to turn on by itself without anyone flipping the switch. we live in louisiana so I know that the car isn't doing it on its own because it's cold. lol has anyone else had this issue and if so what did you do.

The switches are in dumb places. I never have an issue except when my one buddy rides. He must get in some odd way and he always turns it on. Might be the same case with you?

Yes, these switches were not put in the correct place for 2 reasons. First of all, when you want to turn on the heated seat, it's hard to see the switch. You have to feel for it and hope that you select the correct setting.
Secondly, it's in a spot that's very easy to hit by accident. When I first got the car, I hit that switch when I was trying to adjust the lumbar support. The switch for the lumbar support and heated seat are very close to together. My father once picked me up and when I got into the driver's seat, the seat was very hot. I noticed the heated seat was on. He must have hit it by accident when he adjusted the seat. You do get used to if over time, but it's definitely in a spot that's easy to hit by accident. They should have put these switches on the center console.

The only good thing is they do shut off automatically when you turn off the engine.

Don't know if you're kidding or not, but I don't think they're turning on by themselves. Most likely, someone is hitting the switch by accident.

thanks yall.....i wasn't joking. felt stupid to post but i've seen stranger in other cars i've owned. but in talking more to my wife, which this always happens when she's in the pass seat. i have concluded that she is the one at fault. i noticed when i drive she sits indian style n her foot hangs over the edge. we have such great roads in louisiana :p that one of the bumps prob causes her to hit the switch. thanks for yall's input!!!!

The haunted heated seat is NO JOKE. My 2009 Malibu LTX heated driver's seat turns on by itself while I am driving. I shut it off and it automatically turns on again. This is very bothersome in the summer time and does this so much that I have had to hold the switch in the off position so that it will not restart. I have since unplugged the switch and all is well.
