Can the heated leather seats come on when using the remote start? I thought our sales person said it would but we've never been able to figure it out if it does. Thanks for any help.

The Malibu is my wife's car, but when we first got it I tried the heated seat with the remote start.
At first I did not think it worked as the seat light did not come on, but when touching the seat it seemed to warm up.

Heated seats wont work with the remote because if they are on for the full 10 minutes on the high setting they will get VERY hot. It sucks but it doesnt take long for the seats to heat up most of the time.

I don't believe this to be the case because there is a specific setting in MyLink to turn on heated seats with remote start on my 15 Malibu.

The Gen 7 Malibu heated seats have two settings.. Hot and ridiculously hot. I can only stand mine on the 2nd setting for a minute or two and I suspect neither setting makes sense to run for 10 minutes with no butt in the seat.

The Cruzes (not sure about your 2015 Malibu) have 3 settings and the first one is so mild that it takes 10 minutes to notice it is on and that is this low setting that comes on when your remote start a Cruze if the outside temp is cold enough and the feature is enabled in config.

Gen7 does not warm the seats when using RS. I modded my former '11 to do it and haven't gotten around to doing it to this one yet, but I will!

I don't see where the OP's question was answered. I to would like to know, how are you able to get the heated seats on with remote start?
See above:

How did you mod your '11 to come on with RS?
I have owned 3 Gen7 models as of this writing. The first was an '09, the second was an '11 that I lost to a flood, and this third one is an '11 as well. It was the second one where I modified the heated seats.

What I did first was add 2 switches to the overhead console. Each one controlled one seat and they were labeled "Hi Off Lo". Through some investigation I discovered that the switch sends two different voltages to the heat module, one for low and one for high. I used some inexpensive diodes in series because I found out that each one drop the voltage by 0.3V. I can't remember the exact voltage, but as I recall it was only a few volts lower than battery voltage so all I had to do was put a few diodes in series for high, then another 6 or 7 diodes for low. I also had 2 LEDs to indicate the selection - 1 was low, both were high.

I ordered the same switches from Del City (dot) com recently so stand by for a How-To thread about doing it! (That link is to the page with the actual switches.)

To know when the car had been started by RKS I used a bunch of relays that I lined up under the rear seat, where it was easy to reach, large enough to hold them (8 or 10!), and protected by the metal bar that spans the car. In the upcoming modification I intend to use some kind of electronics, such as an Arduino or an IC programmed by using the Arduino, but I'm not sure yet how it will turn out. The electronics will be easier to manage, smaller, consume less current, and I can reprogram it as needed without having to cut and re-solder a bunch of wires. (Yeah, it was as neat as possible but it was a huge challenge to get it right!)

Here is a link to the How-To for the single switch and 3 LEDs that I installed in the OH console before adding the 2 heated seat switches:
