Hi everyone! I have a 2017 Malibu 1.5T. I bought this vehicle as my daily work whatever car. Honestly I’m very impressed with what Chevy has done with their vehicles. I like how it looks and the interior finally woke up! They used to be so cheep and boring looking. I do however regret not having the 2.0t. I’m modify everything I own. I know this car has the light duty trans and isn’t capable of much. I’d like to at least make it more drivable. I’d assume an intake and the trifecta tune are good options? I’d just like to make it a little more drivable. I just ordered some 18” wheels for the 225-55-17. I love the Bose system also. But I’d like to make it hit just a bit more without being obnoxious. So I also ordered a single 12” Rockford Fosgate punch sub with a 500w amp. Any advice or suggestions? Much appreciated. If the tune really puts out +48 HP as claimed I’d probably be quite happy. My hellcat is my fun car. But I can’t leave anything stock. I don’t beat on this car at all. It’s got 50k on her and looks brand new everywhere. Not even a spot of rust on the bottom.

Trifecta is the best performance mod for the 1.5T. I would skip any oiled intake on a daily driver car, tests show they let in tons of fine particles that cause wear and tear on the engine.

The tune page says this "1.5L gains: up to +35 ft-lbs torque, +48 horsepower (peak gains of up to 14 ft-lbs torque, +38 horsepower)." Peak gains are what people usually brag about in mods because you add them to the total, but those specific gains will give you a nice kick in the pants in light to moderate driving.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t expect this car to ever be anything but a nice daily. However the thought of a sleeper for what it is does got me thinking. But that’s not gonna ever happen with a 1.5. But just to be able to pass traffic with a little more power would be nice. Other than that I don’t see adding anything else would be worth it or even doable with such a light duty trans and tiny 4 cylinder. I have considered trying to trade up but then still probably not worth it. This car is in the best condition I’ve ever seen for a 5 year old car. Even the hub on the rotors don’t even have rust on them. The paint is flawless with no swirls nothing. So I plan on keeping her that way. The rest dumps into my other build.
