[Malibooboo]

I haven't been around in a while. A couple members here PMed me to ask where I disappeared to, so I figured I'd report back that I ended up buying an HHR SS. It was a tough choice between the HHR, Malibu and the G8, but a lot of it came down to the incentives I was able to get on the HHR and the overall sportiness of the SS model. The car is lightning fast with a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine that produces 260 HP and 0-60 in less than 7 seconds. Yet I am averaging 27-28 MPG, with or without premium fuel.

I wouldn't rule out getting a Malibu in the future since I know it is a nice vehicle and I test drove a couple of them. It will be interesting to see how the Malibus hold up over time, both in reliability and the resale value.

As I said in the PM before...awesome choice.

Did you get the stick or auto? I couldn't remember if you said that or not.

I wanted to get the stick, especially after test driving it, but with all the commuting I do, I just had to get the auto. And my wife refuses to drive a stick. Wait.....maybe that was my chance.......

My wife was the one that had issues with the HHR- I like the car. But, like you Jerkyking, she felt cramped. Of course, she says the Malibu's side / rear visibility is only slightly better, so she only drives it if she has to (bonus to me!! ).

I'm 6' and I don't feel too cramped. It's not as wide as the Grand Prix, but still wide enough for two reasonably sized adults. But it is totally different going to a wagon from a sedan.

I have a co-worker who weighs around 300 pounds, and it was like trying to shoe horn him into the HHR.

The HHR is so far off the ground compared to the Malibu or GP. When I get back into the GP, I feel like I'm slinking down into a Solstice or Vette.
